Endless floppy ear scratches. Constantly wagging tails. Loud snoring on the couch. That’s what we want for every dog. But the basset hounds we rescue don’t always come to us in the best shape. Often, their health needs have been neglected.
Veterinary care is our largest expense by a long shot, and those costs are escalating: The average cost per dog is $1,700.
If you know bassets, you know they’re worth it. And that’s the kind of friend our dogs deserve.
They’re devoted to us. We’re devoted to them.
Since our founding more than 25 years ago, we’ve never refused a basset hound in need. (After all, who could turn down a face like that?)
To date, Guardian Angel Basset Rescue has saved over 6,000 hounds.
That includes Charlie, a senior basset with special needs. Charlie was found tied to a fence in an alley. GABR scooped up Charlie, provided him with the care he needed, and matched him with a foster mom looking to adopt a senior dog.
We’d do anything for our dogs. With your help, we can and will. As long as there’s a basset in need, we’ll be there—forever.
